Public map for **Opština Sveti Nikole** (North Macedonia). Baked into the HTML at build time (header **Changelog** button).

**🌱 TALEA Layers** deploy group (aligned with [TALEA-platform](https://github.com/TALEA-platform)): MODIS Nighttime LST, LST Z-Score, Z-Score Classes (1–10), Urban Heat Exposure Index (UHEI).
**ECOSTRESS LST composite** (~70 m) in the surface-temperature group when `outputs/tiles/ecostress_lst_composite/` is present.

Surface temperature (LST) is **not** 2 m air temperature.
Rebuild: `python app.py --city "Sveti Nikole" --years 2025 --reuse-fetch-cache` (after refreshing LST GeoTIFF / tiles).

Use the layer control (top-right) to turn layers on or off and read the legend (bottom-left). Toggle a few layers at a time — each active layer’s colour scale appears at the bottom. Before interpreting colours, check which layer is active and whether the legend encodes temperature, land cover, hot spots, or something else.

Per-layer help: Click ? next to a layer name for purpose, sources, and formulas. Close with ? again, ×, Esc, or a map click.

Sveti Nikole map

Land Surface Temperature (Tiles) — Landsat summer June–August 2025 surface temperature (°C), clipped to the municipality. Not 2 m air temperature.
Settlement outlines — town — settlement / boundary outlines for orientation.
Census 2021 — settlement polygons joined to official 2021 population and age bands (``data/census2021-svetinikole.json``). Requires zonal mean LST on settlements. Default off.
Layer control — six groups: (1) surface temperature, (2) heat by settlement, (3) 🌱 TALEA Layers (MODIS night LST, LST Z-score, UHEI), (4) outlines, (5) census, (6) vegetation & Copernicus. Names ending in — town / — town + villages scope settlement choropleths.

Reading the heat layer

Colours on Land Surface Temperature (Tiles) follow the bottom-left legend (min / mid / max from tiles/lst/metadata.json). Compare relative warmth inside the municipality — not absolute comfort or air temperature.
